NYTSHIFT Rewards · Season 1

Points for the fees you pay through NYTSHIFT.

Seasons of points for the fees you pay on orders placed through NYTSHIFT, for keeping your own account funded, for protecting trades and for inviting friends. After each season's review, points turn into $NYT from a fixed pool. Points have no guaranteed value.

Season 1 runs from Mon, 2 Nov 2026 to Sun, 27 Dec 2026 (UTC). Pool: up to 15,000,000 $NYT. Rules locked Sun, 1 Nov 2026, fingerprint 10bcf9488560e6e3bc8a8250bdb73e5fde118763a430435b731fdadf3801f49b.

Trading points follow the fees you pay. Leverage never counts.

Invites

When a friend signs up with your link, funds $100 for 7 days and trades, you get 500 points and they get 250, paid once they have been active 30 days with no flags. You also get 10% of their trading points for their first 90 days, from the season, without reducing theirs. One level only: their invites earn you nothing. Up to 50,000 invite points per season; more than 50 qualified invites in a season are reviewed by hand. The invite code is fixed when your friend joins and can't be changed, and you can't invite yourself.

What never earns points

Leverage. Winning or losing, outside competitions. Trades placed on a venue's own site. PAPER trading, outside PAPER competitions.

Two per season, ranked by % return after fees.

Each runs 14 days (Season 1: weeks 3 to 4 and weeks 6 to 7), is free to enter and is opt-in. Ranked by profit after fees and funding divided by starting value, in three groups by starting value: $100 to $999, $1,000 to $9,999, and $10,000 and up. You need at least 5 closed trades through NYTSHIFT, on at least 3 days, and $5 of fees. One entry per person; if two accounts turn out to belong to one person, only the worse result counts. Each finisher's biggest drop is published next to their return.

Prizes are points, per group: 5,000, 3,000 and 2,000 for the top three, then 500 each to 10th. A group pays its top 10 with 30 or more entrants, its top 3 with 5 to 29, and nothing with fewer than 5. PAPER competitions use a fixed $10,000 PAPER start with no refills and give badges. Competitions aren't open yet. We'll post each one here before it starts.

An equal share of a fixed pool, with two limits.

Season 1's pool is 15,000,000 $NYT, 1.5% of the $NYT supply. Every point gets an equal share of the pool, but a point is never worth more than 1 cent of $NYT (at the token's average price over the last 7 days of the season, from its main pool), and nobody gets more than 1% of the pool. Anything not paid goes back to the rewards reserve for later seasons. It never goes to the team. The pool can grow during a season, never shrink.

  1. 1. The season ends

Sun, 27 Dec 2026, 23:59 UTC, the end of week 8. Points freeze.

  2. 2. Review, 14 days

Checks run, flagged accounts are reviewed, and you can see and appeal any removed points for 7 days.

  3. 3. Claim

You claim your $NYT on Robinhood Chain, where $NYT will live. Claims stay open 90 days; unclaimed tokens go back to the reserve.

  4. 4. Big claims are split

Above 25,000 $NYT, half is paid at claim and half 30 days later. If fraud comes to light in those 30 days, the second half is cancelled.

The claim is being built. It opens after the Season 1 review, once the claim contract on Robinhood Chain is live and reviewed. If that slips, the new date goes up here. Your points aren't affected.

Everywhere else is in, including the United Kingdom, the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. People in the places above can still use NYTSHIFT as normal. A venue's own country restrictions also apply: if you can't trade a venue from your country, you earn nothing there. Hiding your location breaks the rules and forfeits your points.

How we count people and check points.

To join you need a NYTSHIFT account with Google on its Privy login, a Hyperliquid account connected for trading in NYTSHIFT, and a browser (we keep a random device key in it, stored on our side only as a one-way fingerprint; no third-party fingerprinting). Each venue wallet counts for one person, ever. No phone or ID checks in Season 1.

We read only your own connected venue accounts, from the venue's public record. Season 1 checks Hyperliquid from the first day. Pacifica and Jupiter Perps checks aren't switched on yet; once they are, trades placed there through NYTSHIFT count back to the season start, and account values there count from that day on. A trade earns points only if NYTSHIFT's own order record shows we sent it. Every entry in your points history shows what earned it: the fill or account reading, the fee and when we checked it. Points update each morning (UTC) and stay pending until the season review. If a venue check fails, the entry waits; nothing is guessed. Trading with yourself or a linked account, repeated open-and-close loops and shared funding are checked, and every removal comes with a plain reason.

The short version.

Points are a record of your activity, not money, a token or an investment. They have no guaranteed value and can't be bought, sold or transferred. The full Rewards terms are on their own page, and you accept them when you join.

Tax: in most places, tokens you receive for doing something count as income when you receive them. You're responsible for any tax on rewards.

Points have no guaranteed value. Trading perps is risky and you can lose all the money in your account. Don't trade more than you would anyway to earn points.
